DPP is seeking a Data Architect for a direct placement position with our client headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas. This position is fully remote. Position summary: - The Data Architect reviews data loaded into the data warehouse for accuracy.
- They are responsible for the development, maintenance, and support of an enterprise data warehouse system and corresponding data marts.
- In addition, the Data Architect will provide guidance to less experienced team members and will assist with establishing development standards.
- This position typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, and 5 or more years of related experience.
Responsibilities: - Reviews data loaded into the data warehouse for accuracy.
- Provides guidance and expertise to the enterprise systems team in the areas of data design, database architecture, metadata, and repository.
- Develops, maintains, and supports the enterprise data warehouse system and corresponding data marts.
- Troubleshoots and tunes existing data warehouse applications.
- Conducts research into new data warehouse applications and determines viability for adoption.
- Develops documentation in accordance with department standards.
- Assists in establishing development standards.
- Assists with coordinating and streamlining recurring operational activities.
- Evaluates existing subject areas stored in the data warehouse.
- Incorporates existing subject areas into an enterprise model.
- Creates new or enhanced components of the data warehouse.
- Interviews, gathers, understands, analyzes, documents, presents, and designs or diagrams complex business processes and constructs functional specifications for bug fixes, enhancements, and/or new development projects.
- Monitors database issues and directs resources to resolve highest-priority issues.
- Provides assistance and guidance to ensure databases produced are efficient, robust, and meeting the ultimate requirements of the users. Where procedures are not clearly defined or non-existent, helps to develop clearly defined procedures.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
- 5 or more years of related experience.
- Oracle data warehouse design and development experience.
- PL/SQL, Discoverer and Discoverer report development experience.
- PL/SQL programming skills.
- Solid understanding of relational database design, including OLTP, and data warehouse schemas like Star Schemas, etc.
