Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a mission-focused, detail-oriented Cybersecurity Analyst to join our elite cybersecurity team supporting high-priority federal programs. This role offers the opportunity to play a pivotal part in protecting national security systems, responding to cyber threats, and improving cyber resilience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
As a Cybersecurity Analyst, you will work with multidisciplinary teams to monitor network activity, assess security risks, implement cybersecurity frameworks, and support key initiatives like the Risk Management Framework (RMF), FISMA compliance, Zero Trust architecture, and incident response. You’ll apply your technical knowledge, analytical mindset, and attention to detail to protect sensitive data, ensure system integrity, and help shape an agency’s cyber defense posture.

Key Responsibilities:
Proactively monitor and analyze security events using SIEM, EDR, and network monitoring tools
Support cyber incident detection, response, analysis, containment, and remediation
Conduct vulnerability assessments and recommend corrective actions based on risk
Assist in the implementation of security controls aligned with NIST SP 800-53 and agency policies
Support RMF lifecycle tasks such as developing and updating System Security Plans (SSP), POA&Ms, and risk assessments
Analyze system configurations for compliance with federal security baselines (STIGs, CIS benchmarks)
Collaborate with engineering teams, ISSOs, and agency stakeholders to remediate findings and improve compliance
Participate in continuous monitoring, FISMA reporting, and support audits and cybersecurity scorecard improvement
Track metrics and report findings to senior cybersecurity leadership and the federal COR or ISSM
Contribute to policy development, standard operating procedures, and cyber governance
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
2–5 years of cybersecurity experience in a federal or enterprise IT environment
Active Secret clearance (Top Secret/SCI preferred or ability to obtain)
Working knowledge of cybersecurity concepts including vulnerability management, threat analysis, incident response, encryption, and access controls
Familiarity with NIST SP 800-53, RMF, FISMA, and Zero Trust security principles
Experience with security tools such as Splunk, Nessus/Tenable, CrowdStrike, Microsoft Defender, and Palo Alto
DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+, CySA+, CND, GSE
GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting cybersecurity initiatives for federal agencies (DoD, DHS, DoS, etc.)
Experience with cloud security tools and practices (AWS, Azure)
Scripting experience (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automation of security tasks
Strong understanding of threat intelligence platforms and indicators of compromise
Advanced certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, GCIA, or GCIH
